Looking for a job in Beauty Therapy?

A Beauty Therapist's primary job is to carry out treatments to enhance the appearance and well-being of their clients'.  A qualified Beauty Therapist may also perform specialist treatments such as massage therapy, aromatherapy and reflexology.  Other duties may include working on reception, arranging appointments, carrying out pre-treatment assessments on clients and dealing with suppliers of products and equipment.

Your working environment in Beauty Therapy can vary greatly.  The most common work places include day spas, health club spas, holiday resorts and hotels.  You could also work as a self-employed therapist providing a mobile service or even as a therapist on a cruise ship.  If you have a flare for sales, retail environments with beauty product houses can also prove very lucrative.

Career Progression in Beauty Therapy is varied depending on the environment you decide to work in.  You could take the management route, becoming a Senior Therapist and ultimately a Beauty Manager or Spa Manager and even a Spa Director in larger sites.  You could also choose to develop and broaden your range of treatments and therapies by taking courses in alternative therapies.  In a retail environment you could succeed in Sales and Marketing, becoming an Account Manager or Regional Manager.
