New massage spa treatment developed
A new massage spa treatment is currently being offered to people visiting a major wellbeing centre in Asia.
The Six Senses Destination Spa in Phuket is promoting the techniques of Maharlika massage, which is said to have originated in the Philippines.
Massage expert Victor Quemuel has now combined a number of aspects of the technique's heritage with his own knowledge of traditional health and beauty therapy to establish an "enlightening and enriching" service.
The massage therapy reportedly relaxes both the mind and body, relieving physical imbalances while boosting blood circulation.
It subtly stimulates fascia tissues in the body, which support a number of major organs and connect nerves and muscles.
Six Senses Destination Spas are currently offering guests a variety of Maharlika sessions, including a full two-hour face and body ritual and an abbreviated 45-minute workout.
The company, which operates a number of spa and beauty therapy centres in Asia, aims to improve the wellness of guests.
