Individuals aged between 16 and 25 could be eligible for a government funded apprenticeship with Lifetime, awarded Centre of Excellence for Fitness for National Employers by the National Skills Academy for Sport and Active Leisure.
Successful applicants will achieve a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification in just four weeks. Students then have the opportunity to start earning whilst they work at a health club or leisure centre to gain practical experience and complete a full NVQ.
Lifetime's flexible Fitness Instructor Award is the ideal starting point if you're wishing to work at fitness instructor level within a health or leisure club. The award comprises of modules ‘Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2' and ‘Gym Instructing' and will prepare you to induct clients to use gym equipment safely and effectively. Once qualified, you will also be able to perform health screening and initial induction sessions for members, write exercise programmes and update these with regular appointments.
